I’ve always had a passion for turning texts into engaging scripts, ones that involve roles for everyone. And you know what? Often, traditional texts can feel a bit dull, which is why I often turn to Aesop‘s cherished tales. They bring that extra spark of excitement into our classrooms!
I’ve really delved into his stories. They’re incredibly fresh, packed with life lessons, and kids just love the animal characters. The dialogues are so clever! Even in Pediatric Oncology, Aesop’s stories were a big hit – they work for all ages! I’ve tested them in various situations, and they’ve always come out on top!
It’s widely known that when we compare the best group lesson to the best private one, the group experience truly shines! Imagine having a lesson like this – a familiar tale we all grew up with and still share with our kids: “The Bell and the Cat”! Isn’t it a joy to see not just one or two kids narrating, but a whole group of 10 kids immersing themselves in the roles like little actors? With creative props, costumes, lively sound effects, and a sprinkle of musical flair, our classrooms become the stages of our own stories. So why not bring the dynamic spirit of London’s theaters into our teaching spaces?
I’ve put together the script in English, tailored for a class of 11 students. I offer clear guidelines on how to adapt the roles for more or fewer participants. While it’s a great fit for Junior B, it’s equally ideal for the first lesson in A class! Picture this: students entering what seems like a typical first lesson, but instead, they find themselves donning costumes, surrounded by stage setups, and enveloped in captivating sound effects everywhere! Who wouldn’t feel a bit disappointed to miss such an exciting learning experience?
As the class comes to an end, your students will be all set to dazzle an audience. So, who should be in the audience – their neighboring classmates or the beaming parents who come to pick them up? How about sharing with parents the incredible journey their little ones embark on right from the very first lesson? Let them witness the transformation, as the classroom turns into a lively stage mirroring the world beyond its walls. Gone are the days of the teacher’s constant monologue; now, those same young minds engage in vibrant dialogues, teaming up in pairs and groups, ultimately culminating in a magnificent collaborative spectacle. And the outcome? Simply awe-inspiring!
Other languages took notice and couldn’t help but be a bit envious… Why not spread this to German, French, Spanish, and more? And of course, we did just that! After all, our goal is to learn not only English but other languages too!

I’ve already got the material up in English, and in the next few days, you’ll also find it available in German – to kick things off! Let’s channel the excitement we’ve gathered from sunny days and ice cream treats and keep the fun going in our classrooms… the theatrical way!

Excited to reveal the cover I’ve crafted, drawing inspiration from Aesop’s tale? It might seem a bit unconventional, but every activity I share takes on a life of its own, sometimes even growing into something more substantial. So, why not give it a cover? Feel free to dive in and click here:
