Since Halloween is approaching, why not take advantage of it? Why not add a touch of mystery to our lessons by dimming the lights, wearing a witch’s hat while stirring the cauldron of new vocabulary? What if we add a few sound effects from the internet? How much magic can we sprinkle in the classroom?

I even extended an invitation to Frankie himself! Why not learn about the parts of the face on his unique, green countenance? And then, his long arms, and large feet? I started with my 5-year-old students, and they enjoyed it so much that I tried it even with my A’ class (9-10-year-olds). I divided them into pairs, distributed piles of green feet, hands, eyes, and ears, and asked them to assemble them by drawing a card from the deck! Yes, I created a deck with many surprises! Sometimes funny and sometimes unexpected. An eruption of laughter from everywhere, and dopamine levels through the roof! Would you like to take a look?

In the end, everyone left with their very own Frankie! I had them walk in the dark and scare the older kids from the other classes, pretending to be Frankenstein! “Trick or treat?” they shouted again and again, mimicking Frankie’s voice! The teenagers laughed and promised to think about what treats they would prepare for their little neighbors. After all, we have a few more days until Halloween, they have time!

So, do you have enough time to embark on this captivating journey?
