Imagine the joy of taking a leisurely holiday stroll through the enchanting streets of Paris, marveling at the festive decorations, and savoring a warm croissant by the river. This is the delightful scene I’d like to paint for my students in our final lesson before the holiday break.

As we gather around the interactive board, I propose something truly special: let’s bring Paris to life in our own space by creating a three-dimensional cardboard model right before our eyes. And why not turn it into an engaging card game for added fun? The inspiration for this activity comes from my childhood, where crafting paper cities with detailed elements brought immense joy.

I vividly remember the joy of arranging tiny houses in rows, allowing cars to glide along the streets, and placing human figures dressed in seasonal attire. These simple constructions became animated in my imagination, and I want to share that same sense of wonder with my students.

With gentle movements, I unveil the activity from its box, akin to opening a treasure chest of creativity. The room is aglow with excitement, much like the twinkle of Christmas lights on the wall. I intentionally steer away from detailed instructions, opting instead to guide the experience through interactive play.

Soon enough, a magical transformation takes place. The students immerse themselves in the streets of our cardboard Paris, answering questions, building their dream city, and creating a unique version of the iconic city of lights.

This card game, which caters

  • to all ages
  • all levels
  • all languages,

is not just a gift to my students but to their parents as well. It serves as an invitation to embrace something different, something creative that can be tailored to individual preferences, offering an opportunity to be fully present in the moment of creation.

It’s the gift I give to you because I know that you are looking for something creative, that you can adapt to your needs, immerse yourself in the NOW, and enjoy the moment of creation. The instructions provide a myriad of possibilities, ensuring that there’s a version that resonates with each participant. All that’s needed to make this creative endeavor a reality is a simple tool – a printer!

I’m eagerly looking forward to receiving photos featuring your own version of Paris – whether you’re at home, in the classroom, or even in the car. Whether it’s beneath the holiday tree, following a delightful meal, or amid a cozy chat, I hope this activity becomes a cherished part of the festive season for children, parents and educators.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas filled with creativity and joy!

Looking forward to your Parisian creations, Sophia
